Christine grew up near Manchester before swapping her job in banking for life on the stage, joining her best friend to form a cabaret duo. The adventure led her to Somerset, where she has lived ever since. A mother of three grown-up children, she spent two decades working in the holiday park industry before stepping away to spend more time in her beloved Kenya.

She loves gardening and walking in the countryside near her home, describing herself as a “closet country girl with a touch of madness.” A published poet and former magazine contributor, Christine made her debut as a novelist with The Other Mrs Trippett.
Following the release of her second book, A Promise to Return, Christine is now busy writing her next novel, which she hopes to complete next year.
About the Author
1950s Kenya, and Hilda has been banished to Kenya with her young charge, Chamomile, to begin her new life on a farm deep in the country.
As the Mau Mau uprising begins, she meets and falls in love with Kamau, a Kikuyu. Forbidden and dangerous, their relationship has dire consequences for those around them, and they are forced to make choices neither of them wants to make.
Now, at the end of her life, Hilda is tormented by the past and is determined to make amends.
Time is running out, and she has a promise to return, but dare she?
The husband who once bullied and controlled Angela Trippett is dead. His power over her should be over. Yet when his will is read, it announces that he is giving away their money—the money he took from her—to another Mrs Trippett. It seems that he had a second wife all along, and may never have been legitimately married to Angela at all. To save her sons’ inheritances, to keep her home, and most importantly to uncover the truth, Angela decides she must go to Kenya to find this other woman.
There, she finds everything from adventure to a sweet young boy needing her help and a passionate love affair with a Kenyan man. Despite scheming lawyers, an angry son, and a criminal conspiracy, she works to discover what really happened. Angela’s husband ruined many more lives than her own. Can any of them find a future no longer haunted by him?
